The West Virginia Council of Teachers of Mathematics, WVCTM, is a statewide organization that advocates the best practices in mathematics instruction for the students of West Virginia.  We are devoted to encouraging an active interest in mathematics and to improve the teaching of mathematics at all levels in schools -- elementary schools, middle/junior high schools, and senior high schools, and to improve the teacher training program in colleges.

    Our membership includes teachers and administrators from pre-kindergarten through college, as well as, students studying to join the education profession.  Our members have served on state-wide committees that address mathematics and are currently involved in implementing Standards-Based Mathematics in the schools of West Virginia.

    Members of WVCTM are leaders in the field of mathematics education.  Many members have gone on to receive National Board of Professional Teaching Standards Certification and the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching.

    WVCTM is an affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
